“At home, in our favourite spot - the balcony”
Celebrity weddings have become synonymous with national festivals. They are a much-anticipated celebration that each and every fan of the star looks up to and rejoices in. While the social media platforms have made us feel closer to these celebrities, we have also become a part of their weddings making us feel that we are all part of one family.
It was a surprise! Of course, we all knew that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been dating for a while now but we didn’t expect the rumours of their wedding to be true. But proving there is no smoke without fire,
the love birds tied the knot in an intimate ceremony with close family and friends on April 14th, 3:30pm.
The cutesy actress, Alia literally manifested her love of life. She had confessed in several interviews that she had a crush on him since school, though the couple started dating only in 2017.
The Brahmastra stars didn’t look for any fancy hotels or palaces to make their dream come true rather tied the knot on Thursday in Mumbai at Ranbir's Pali Hill residence, Vastu.
Alia made sure that her big day would be celebrated on the balcony where they had spent 5 beautiful years of their relationship.
Both of them hopped on the bandwagon and chose to be Sabyasachi bride and groom in white royal ensembles. The decor was also lit in white and gold going in sync with the bride and groom’s outfits. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapor, Adar Jain and Karan Johar were a few big names who were also the family’s closest members to attend the wedding.
While their beautiful pictures went viral within minutes, the minimalism in Alia’s wedding look was much appreciated. Her bridal white hand-dyed saree featuring tilla work embroidery and a handwoven tissue veil was just magical.
Her makeup look was fresh and minimal, glowing with her genuine happiness and excitement for the wedding.
We really got to appreciate her makeup artist, Puneet B Saini who now has created a new trend of nomakeup makeup look for brides. Alia’s open hair look and white manicure did paint the picture perfectly. Styled by Ami Patel, Alia teamed her Sabyasachi organza saree which was skillfully draped by Dolly J with regal statement-making jewellery by the same designer. Alia's seeshphool with a maang tikka and jhumkas went with the theme, making her a bride to remember. Her chunky uncut diamond necklace with hand-strung pearls was placed beneath her simple mangalsutra that bore an infinity symbol in gold too just above the pendant. The bride made sure to customise her gold Kaleeras which consisted of birds, and clouds placed in a tiered pattern that had stars attached too with the Kapoor boy’s lucky number 8 and infinity symbol.
The bride added a Punjabi touch with her red and gold chooda set.
Unlike the regular cramped up mehendi designs, she went the minimal route here with simple and elegant designs on both her palms. Ranbir’s one line mehendi read Alia! Aren’t they just #couplegoals! Ranbir Kapoor looked his best matching Alia in her white Sabyasachi sherwani suit entailed with uncut diamond buttons, a silk organza safa and was teamed with a shawl decked in zari maori embroidery. His long pearl necklace and kalangi which also bore emeralds and pearls, along with dainty diamond studs made him the perfect prince charming! Must say, the groom’s family too decked up gorgeously and were seen rocking royalty eluding ensembles by ace designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Kosla.
Alia took to her Instagram their enchanting mushy photos from the photo session they had on their terrace post-wedding. We absolutely loved the white and gold theme, their chemistry and everything about this much-awaited yet surprise wedding which made our April even better! As Ayan Mukerji played cupid for their love affair, we can all witness the romance onscreen as their first film together as a couple, Brahmastra will release on 9th September 2022!
We wish the adorable couple all the love & light!
